HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

By tedious, I was referring to it taking awhile for everything to be completed. Not that it's a hard task.

Do this before or after the letter comes?

They offered me last week to email it, called back 2 hours later and the lady was able to locate it, and was approved.
Love me or hate me. I still love you.

I have had Business AA + Personal AA Visa for almost 1 Year - both still open.
I applied last Thursday for the AA Visa with the chip.
Tried applying again today for the same card and got:
We have received your application and further processing is required at this time. We will contact you within a week via email regarding our decision. Thank you for requesting a Citi® Platinum Select® / AAdvantage® Visa Signature® Card.

Is that a denial? Will calling in help?

Update:
10 minutes on the phone with recon; didn't say anything other than - Yes, I'll hold --> Approved with $15k limit.

If I have an existing AA visa is it better to not add AA advantage number?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

Better to add it. That way you don't have to deal with the hassle of merging it later

That happened to me and I sent it in again. When I called they said they'd received 2 apps.

I didnt get any email about application submitted.
That app was for friend. I have AA visa from more than 18 months ago. Is it better to get WMC or Visa again? I read somewhere that WMc might be only for those without an existing account?

They said they took the 2nd as a duplicate and disregarded it. Not sure what that means.

It means you used your 2 apps up and have to wait 65 days before you can apply for more Citi cards.

Hi,

I would like to do a 2/3/4 BM for Citi.
Ive been reading this thread and just want to confirm some things...
Is it just AA personal cards that cant be done at the same time?
Can I do an AA and a hilton card?

And can I do a 2 BM of AA personal... Get approved for 1 card right away and then on day 9 call recon to get the 2nd approved that way i will only get 1 credit pull?
