HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

I am wondering, If someone applied for a Citi 5 months ago, if he will get denied today. Or it's only a problem with 2 of the new product.
Just heard this terrible report and came on here to ask this question.

Thank you. We have received your application and further processing is required at this time. We will contact you within a week via email regarding our decision. Thank you for requesting a Citi® Platinum Select® / AAdvantage® Visa Signature® Card.

About 2 months.
I am going to guess longer than that.  ;)
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Again, the question is if they can't (i) be churned within ~18 mos (like the old policy), (ii) EVER be churned (would be a new policy), (iii) can't be churned within 18 mos if you currently have one open (would be a new policy), (iv) be churned with the link that allowed churning within the 18 mos, etc.

The FT Wiki update implies #2, but the FT wiki is not T&C (even if it is close when it comes to this issue) :)

My opinion is that this was a glitch in the system (was hard-coded) which was fixed and reversed to the old rules.

I'm shifting the burden of proof on someone who thinks that it's new rules.

Gary just posted about this today.
Either he decided to start keeping 'secrets', or he just discovered it. I think I can guess the answer.

Makes sense to me.  He doesn't want death threats either :P
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

He didn't really post the real deal. Of course, that one died already.
It does have a landing page, so it might not be something that Citi would stop.

It never died.
The lax churning rules died.

I applied last week for the WMC Platinum level, now i got in the mail a 50K offer for the Gold level, and the annual fee is just $50.
Any suggestions on how to make it happen?
is there a way to get it approved, saying that i wish to have a much lower annual fee than the one i recently got?

I see on FT that you can combine Business and Personal

I'm not negative about it at all. I was simply amused by the timing of his post.

Just called Citi to wave the membership i just got hit with..
They credited me 95.00 no problem even though my membership fee is 85.00 so i made 10.00!
They also told me that they would also like to offer me that if i spend 1000.00 per month on the card i will get 2x miles for every dollar i spend up to 1000.00 for the next 16 billing cycles!
Is this normal??
