HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

How long after booking ticket does one have to cancel?
Also, are there any cancellation fees?
I canceled 2 weeks after booking. I'd assume it has more to do with how close you are to the flight than how long after booking, but maybe others can weigh in on this. And no, there are no fees.

applied for a citi aa biz card and was declined the rep says i have to many open accounts, although i only have 2, so she says we see you closed 3 accounts already in the past and they show as if they're an open account when i apply for credit so that makes it 5 accounts and thats to mnay, anyone heard if something like that ?
called citi recon again and the rep said that after canceling a biz card i need to wait 18 months before opening a new one one of their new rules. can anyone confirm that they managed to get a BIZ card approved after canceling one within 18 months/
IF this is corrrect than thats the end of churning with citi now that the personal cant either be churned

Yup, just be aware that they're much more expensive. A ticket for $300 when refundable can be $800.

65 days from your last app. Do the math.

What is the consensus as to the wait time in between getting a citi aa bonus on the same card type again?

The 18 month myth is not new.

So does everyone agree that with 2 personal apps, a bus app can be made 65 days after the 1st app?
