Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

Hmm....dunno about that.  I never had a problem with Citi.  I only do 1 application now as my understanding is 1 application per day.  I read a forum on flyertalk that explained all the rules for churning Citi AA and business AA.  As a matter of fact, I closed a citi business card one day and applied and was approved for the new one the following day.

My wife got it last month - got bonus.

Friend got it 2 weeks ago. After approval, they called to verify contact info & sent cards.

Has anyone gotten approved for the Citi Business in the past few months?

Yes, last week. Was my first. Pending at first, called to verify address, etc and was approved after a few more days of "processing".

What was the reason for rejection and what did you tell them?

Applied for a 2 bm in Aug for Biz and Pers, but immediately cancelled the Biz on the phone.
Now they said too many AA apps, I said I canceled she looked into it and approved no issues.

yes
first citi app, a 2bm, declined one straight away because of multiple apps however the other was eventually approved after about 7-10 days of processing. Every time i called they said they couldn't do anything because the app was processing.

Had it also for Citi biz. Personal WMC was approved after quick call, but biz needed the week (after I called to verify some info), then got approved without another call.

I booked a flight with Avios and using the FinAir site changed the FFN to an account which the AH also has the Citi Platinum AA (eligible for first bag free).

Will I be able to get my first bag free, even though the name on the ticket and the name on the account dont match?

I just did a 2bm citi ( business& personal) from ny. I froze Experian & was told they cAn only pull from Experian on this app & that the system is random. I cancelled the application & am now debating : 1- applying on phone & telling them mom-Experian ( worked with chase 4 me)
2- applying from nj or pA . Both states on my credit report .
3- reapplying same & hoping 4 different results ( einstiens adage not with standing )..
Any advice ?
Thanks

Has anyone successfully churned a personal card since the end of August? I want to apply for another one, but saw the FW thread that says its dead, even if it is from a diff card issuer. Is that true?
