Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

That cost me a lough.
Airlines sending me "We're in this together" emails.

Bruh, where were you when my suitcase weighed it 51.50 pounds?

CV, except for you no one sees the TYP as exciting.
-1. Cashback cards are looking much more appealing in light of recent devals.

Devals hurt, but in the end of the day are you really going to stop earning miles because J to TLV is now 140-160K instead of 120K?
Add 4.5K for $$$ short-hauls and miles still win in my book.

Though for people using 80-90K to fly Y to TLV cashback makes sense.  Though the devals didn't really affect that.

The main thing the deval will do is push more people from partner F class into UA F or partner J class when using UA miles.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Agreed. Miles cards are still way ahead when you can maximize with high value redemptions.

However, MS at 5% cash back looks much more appealing now than it did before all the devals.

If you plan to sell the points/miles going from 1.9 to 1.6 hurts.  >:(
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Yup. Definitely a consideration for moving to CB.

No argument.
But 5x1.6 or 5.5x1.6 is still very sweet.

Maxing out a Freedom and IB over 1 year with signup bonuses on both.
IB 300k+Freedom 109k=409k@1.6= $6544
$25k a month for 6 months at 5x CB through VR= $6313
I'm sure CV can tell us how much harder you can hit ;)

For those who sell, 5x CB makes a very compelling argument.

It's just so much harder to find availability when your only option is UA's own metal. Especially to TLV.
I remember when a coke was a nickel, and you could buy VRs in OD.

On an AA card,  Citi clawed back (only on the statement) bonus miles too (for refundable AA ticket).
First time it happened to me.
Are they starting to catch us....?
Yup, as I said earlier, the party is over.
Though they don't claw back out of your AA account, but you'll have a negative 'balance' with Citi till you spend again.
I have always had this with Business cards, but never with personal cards… until this week.
Anyone else have a similar experience?

I had it on personal. Nothing happens. I just stopped spending on those cards. Best thing is that they keep a separate cheshbon for each card, so it doesn't matter for your other cards.

A lot of potential is lost.

Ok, yeah, but it's risky business. I did it 4 times and didn't do it more times.
But because they only take back the bonus points, you can technically do it over and over on a 10k ticket and get 10k bonus points each time which isn't clawed back. So you go to -10,000 each time and get new 20,000.

There is more potential than that.
