Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

Any recent reports of an Experian credit freeze working for a Citi app? (particularly for the biz card)

Need some advice please ...

I have 2 active Citi cards - both personal AA cards (one Amex, One Visa) in which I got about a year ago (annual fee coming up)

In my recent Apporama 10 days ago, I screwed up (didn't read the FT thread thoroughly) and applied for another personal AA card (mastercard) thinking I would get another 50k. I instantly got denied saying "only valid for fist time AA card members") - OK so theres nothing I can do and I have wasted a credit pull - I get that ... Now I'm wondering - 10 days later if I should do any of the following:

A) Should I go ahead and apply for the Business AA card now ? - I dont care about another pull, but would their be any risk in getting denied for this ?
B) I would ideally like to cancel the other 2 personal cards as thier AF is coming up, however i have 26k in CL between both of them and I have no other personal cards to transfer the line to. Does it make more sense to apply for another personal card (like Thank you, or Hilton ) just so I can trasnfer the lines to when closing out the others ?

any other suggestions/advice?  I would appreciate it .. thanks
Pleas hold. Your call will be answered in the order it was received.

You can't even move personal to personal, never mind biz to personal. I would recommend though that you try to get a retention offer.

Anybody knows if i can match a better offer (from 30k or 40k to 50k) on the same card but with different networks?
(eg: Citi AA Visa to Citi AA MC)

Applied for the biz aa, no response from them, finally got a letter and called and said they couldn't pull from Experian since it was frozen. I unlocked it (didnt realize it was locked) but now i see they pulled twice. They pulled it originally and then again.

Can I dispute one pull with experian? would they remove?  and will it hurt my future apps with citi?

I would call Citi to have it removed.
