HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

I got the 50k platinum personal citi aa card in October. They created a new mileage number for me. I now got a offer via email for 40k points via my 1st mileage account which i have for years. Can I take that offer while i still have a existing card on another mileage account number or better stay away as it may not work?

Except that isn't the point.

The point is that one can easily, i.e. without resorting to Stork, apply for both this 75K offer AND the 50K offer.

Applying for a vanilla 50K offer in December, and then applying for another in January, on that hope that Stork will push it through is uncertain... at best.

The big boss.
Haha so that's why I see those Stork pictures randomly (mostly on Dan's messages of course).  Is he/she a living being or "The Big Boss?"

Fair enough.
Any actual reported successes with the Exec and the Sig card 8 days apart?

have not applied for a citi card in years, been busy with chase and amex , now this 75000 signup bonus is tempting me to apply, so I want to know can I manufacture spending like ap and vanilla reload with citi bank or are they more strict and it will raise red flages if I spend 7k in cvs and they will close me down?
I still want to know if you can use vanilla reloads and ap to the get the spending threshold on citi cards or is it not recommended

I don't understand why everyone is making such a big deal about the annual fee, what's it different then the Amex Plat where everyone's closing within 60days??

Citi Executive T&C
"Annual Membership Fee. The Citi Disclosures show the amount of the annual membership fee. We will refund this fee if you notify us that you are closing your account within 30 days of the mailing or delivery date of the statement on which the fee appears. The fee is otherwise non-refundable."

You answered your own question:
And are people getting charged the fee in the 1st statement?

It's been 2 1/2 weeks since opening and I haven't yet been charged the annual fee (opened with the 60k offer and have since been matched to 75k)
So I'll have 30 days after the 2nd statement to close (1st short statement closed already).
Giving me 66 days in total.

I just signed up for the 75k card and plan on signing up for the 50k card. Because of the high spending threshold on the 75k card I would rather wait until I'm close to reaching it before signing up for the 50k cc. Is there any advantage to only wait the min 8 days to sign up for the second cc?

Off topic: is there a thread for extremely generous retention/dispute refunds/credits from cc reps? Also of reps ( stork might b an example )that allow bending of rules etc Have had some crazy stories in my days ( like when chase gave me 60k URL points for using ink card & not plat for hotel room to compensate for not getting the upgrade) -& would b interested in hearing others..
