HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

whats ur experiance with getting FR (citi's version) from big spending
Me and my wife maxed out last summer our 4 Citi personal and 2 Citi business cards with a total cl of $41,200, x3 months in a row, that's $123,600 charged in a short 13 weeks... and the payments were made from a 3rd party congregation account... (actually from the same account it went into in the first place ;D) and Citi didn't make a peeps.

(While our amex cards were hit with a fatal FR for doing the same..)

Just got off the phone with them. My statement date is the 6th. I tried changing it to the 27th when she mentioned that my first statement won't close until March 6th not Feb 6th since I just opened the card. She mentioned that my annual fee won't be due until April. Does that make sense?

I know with Chase it's like that.
But points won't post till March  as well

Don't care when the points post. I need the annual fee to not hit within the month so I can meet the spend and save myself 450 dollars. On 2 cards it's 900 bucks, way to much!

I have both the Citi aadvantage Amex & visa personals from 2BM since Nov 2011.
Have the Citi Aadvantage visa biz since 2012. Got the Citi Aadvantage mastercard personal in July 2013.

Do I have a chance to get this executive aadvantage card now? Or chances are slim since I have 4 addvantage cards already?

In addition to the above, I have the 2 Citi Hilton honors card since early 2013 I think & the dividend mastercard since 2010.

Should I close one first and than apply for the new offer next day?

My wife has about the same citi cards & unlike before, she got rejected for citi aadvantage biz mastercard. They said she already has citi visa biz card.

another date point, on my account I was told it will close on Feb 21st and that it will close this statement cycle. I switched it to the 1st of March.

If the system isn't letting anyone link their card to an existing id, they should go to register a new account and enter the information and it will give the option of linking it to the existing account.

Some people just don't get it.

Some people don't get that another $900 gamed out of the system is another $900 going for necessities.  ;)

Agreed. I don't see how people can be condescending here when these same guys apply for Amex plat cards in Dec to get the 200 credit times 2 using the PGGM and then cancel. That's ok but not paying the AF according to the Citi terms when someone may actually need the money isn't ok. This isn't milking them for money like the Amex credit I am simply avoiding the AF.
