HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

Applied 1st time 3 weeks ago (for the 60k offer which has since been matched)
Had Experian frozen both times so they pulled Equifax (which nobody else pulls)
Only had 1 pull within the last 12 months
Although I did do a big AOR at the time of the 1st app, which doesnt seem to have bothered them
Where did u apply from just did 4 from Bronx & they all came back Experian

He froze his Experian.
Thought he meant they automatically pulled from eq which would have nothing to do with the freezing

to avoid an A/A or better for credit?
Don't they look at total credit utilization? So if someone has total 100k and maxes out one card of only 10k,  that's 10% utilization, why is that bad?

Supposedly they look at both.

Got this card friday. Hit the 10k threshold. Was told the fee will come on my first statement and because i hit the limit 3 weeks before the statement is going to come in. So they said the points will probably hit then. If i get the fee- i have 30 days to cancel from then?

Does paying a personal cc by citi with a citi business account trigger anything? or is it safe? (coming from a bad chase shutdown, guessing for this reason..)
