HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

And you had an older AA account with them that you didn't put on your application?

This might be a little off topic, but hoping for a response.

Is there any point in keeping my Citi Platinum AA Card if I was going to cancel it anyway after a year since I got the Executive Card (I plan on keeping for the full year).

Basically does the Platinum get me anything that the Platinum doesnt?

my statement closed. spent well over 10k. no points, no AF, no $200 credit.??
what happened was I tried to push off my due date which they said they can't do until the next month. Anyways I guess they were able to do it and they pushed it off to feb 28th. Also complained about lack of welcoming kit they give me 1000 miles.

@SrulyP the platinum gets you 10% bonus when redeeming miles up to 10000 a year that the executive doesn't give you.

Meshug+Citi=Bad Information
Anyone else care to answer then? Will they claw back miles or shut down my aa account if I purchase refundable tickets to reach spending threshold?
