HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

I believe this is happening. It is just something else is in the works here.

Something else?

Only glanced over the FT thread but have not seen any reports of closures. Anyone find this odd?
Not at all.

1. FTers are less likely to play in this morally dark grey area and stick to more traditional MS.
2. FTers are all about their programs and elite status and are unlikely to share being booted from an airline. At the other end is the FWers that get status based on how many bans they've received while DDF is in the middle I'd say.
3. FT is very heavily moderated and FT mods are overzealous and are in the airline's pockets (comped trips, etc) and quickly delete reports of account audits and shutdowns.  I have seen it firsthand.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

That is what I am trying to figure out.

Ooh! Exciting! Even the Count can't figure out the mystery! But he will! The question is will he share the solution once he cracks the code.

1 - Not some of the FT'ers I know.
2 - Funny but accurate.
3 - Was not aware of that but it would explain it.

It will have to wait. I have bigger problems. Like trying to figure out why a certain members VGC won't work at a grocery store.

Not straight forward, but maybe a general warning about how playing in gray areas can come with consequences. I dont think it should look like everyone here has been doing it. A general Ethic post would be nice.
Would love to see the comment on that one.

NOOOOO!
Don't bring more attention to it.
The more attention = The worse the result is likely to be.

People who don't read these threads on DDF aren't very likely to do these things.

Until this exec card, refundable tickets have never been discussed properly on DD or DDF. Since it was never recommended and hardly mentioned, there is no reason to "assume responsibility" by posting on main site.

In other words, this was never a DD thing to do in the first place.

No need for the extra attention- has greater potential to spiral out of control that way

I think you can still save a lot of people.
Plenty of people was to it as a first choice but if they only have 5 days left to do the spending they might go this route

That's what you keep blabbering. Yet you come with no hard proof.
Just continuing the subject from yesterday.
No hard feeling!!

Can we come out with an official sarcastic font?
