HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

Applied for my second card last week after my first card was applied on 1/31/14. Went to pending. Citi emailed and asked for a work number and a utility bill, which I provided two days ago. Called recon today-- call went inconclusive. CSR verified my power bill, but said they would get back to me in a few days. I suppose I'll have to call back if I got declined.

Thank you for contacting our Customer Service Team.

We are unable to transfer a portion of a credit line from one account to another account.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
~~~
Is it wrong of me to ask "it it only when people call for reconsideration of an application that you do it?"?
Don't know if this helps you at all but the phone rep told me exactly those words during a reconsideration phone call.... " we will only move credit when reconsidering a diff card" but others have successfully moved so I guess it's YMMV
I completed the spend within a week of opening the card. Should I close it now ? Wait until the end of the month ?? I have heard different opinions, 37, 30. Anyone have any idea ??
When can I cancel the card and still get the 250 back? 30 days from the AF posting or 30 days from getting the card?
Definitely don't close it until you verity that the points are in your AA account. The earliest the miles will post is when your Citi statement closes.
Statement closed over a week ago. Miles still didn't post to AA. I SM'd them and they told me it can take 2 to 3 billing cycles to post. Is there any way to speed this up? It's stupid to get nailed with the AF for this reason. I hit the 10k before the 1st statement closed.
There is no way to expedite; they'll post second statement. You're either stuck paying the annual fee or risk losing the 100K.
But, seriously? You guys are going to risk 100K for $250?
It is 110k for 450 at this point.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half
