HT: FT

Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

When applying for the second card, do I put in the same AA account or is it like chase UA and I make a new account? TIA
its not necessary to create a new AA account. Citi are the ones that have stricter rules about churning and they go by SS.

The rep at AA just told me that the exec cc has no benefits when flying internationally. No business check in, no priority boarding, no lounge access. I suspect she might not know what she's talking about.
Anyone with experience?

Sure= cynical. Or do you mean yes people have received the second 100k? Is there a need to worry about being shut down for the second 100k? This may have been asked, but I did not follow the last 300 pages of the thread- sorry.

Any way to redirect the aa miles (before statement closes, of course) from going into the original aa account entered on cc app, to another/new aa account?

...but sometimes they are right. The hard part is to figure out when.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

That's why I'm asking if anyone has experience with the exec card outside the country

So no one here has reported closing the card to get AF fee back after legitimate $10K spending and receiving the points?

Closed first card yesterday to avoid AF.  Miles posted to AA two weeks ago.  Opened 2nd card on Friday.
