Citi in NY pulls from either Equifax or Experian or both. YMMV even by the same person.

If you live in NJ or NY, you should freeze your Experian. They will only pull Equifax then. Otherwise, YMMV.

FOR MORE INFO, READ FT'S WIKI - IT IS PHENOMENAL, FT WIKI

Quote from the above mentioned FT WIKI:
For the most part, freezing Experian, or another bureau, will not cause Citi to pull a different bureau. They will almost certainly require you to unfreeze the bureau they wish to pull or deny your application. Some people have been successful providing the PIN but others have not. Mostly, freezing a credit bureau in an attempt to force Citi to pull a different one seems to waste time, money, and effort for little result. But YMMV.

DDF data points (As of 10/2015)
NY- pulls both EQ/EX, can still get instant approval with EX frozen
CA, OH, PA, TX- ONLY EX. Citi will refuse to pull other bureau

Benefits:..
New no forex fees starting Nov.'15

From FT Wiki:"Important exception: If you receive a Platinum World MC which is later converted to a World Elite MC (as indicated on the back of the card), the opening of that card will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule. This is true not only for conversions in early 2015, but also for those in more recent months.
Note: It makes no difference when (or whether) you activate the World Elite card. If you have the WE card in hand, then the conversion on Citi's books is already complete. There is nothing magical about activating it.
There are a few reports that some Gold World MC are being converted to Gold World Elite MC and that will no longer count for purposes of the 18-month rule."
UPDATE: As of 02/18/2016 (for applications after 02/09/2016), the W>WE loophole may be dead.

I have two platinum personal platinum AA cards...got the bonus on both.  Is that standard?  Can I sign up for others besides the executive, like the lower ones.  I understand that getting an Amex AA wont change things, but perhaps the Gold?  I read through the ft wiki, but I couldn't figure it out.   Thank you kindly.

Yes, it is known not to work if you have another aa card. Discussed the past few pages in this thread.
Thats only if you applied in last 18 months right? I have an existing platinum from more than 18 months ago, and wanna apply for second?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

My understanding is when you are approved. But I don't see how this rule is even in effect, when people were applying for the Citik 100K card a every 8/65 days.

That card at that time was an anomaly. They were giving it away like candy.
I remember when a coke was a nickel, and you could buy VRs in OD.

Was just told that I can't transfer the CL off a card I want to close onto another AA card that I still have open. Rep said they don't ever transfer CL when closing a card.

The general rule with Citi is, they don't transfer CL only to approve a new card however, some people-including myself- were successful even when closing a card.
I try my best :-\

Gotcha. Okay, so I lost some CL. I don't think it'll matter too much.

No. Unless you fall under the "some people" - from FT wiki -
Quote
Business AA cards: have been churnable repeatedly by some people without restriction other than the general Citi application rules. Apply once every 91-95 days. For unknown reasons, some other people have been unable to churn business cards at all. Also, some (but not all) people need to completely cancel their previous business card (ie, cancel both the card account and the associated master account) before they can apply for another business card.
