International driving permit

does anyone have experience renting cars internationally, do they require you to have an IDP when you rent or only if you get pulled over ?
which companies and which countries.

Um you want a list of 200 countries policies? Why not ask about the countries you plan on going to? Plus it's cheap and easy to get in the US so may be worth just getting it and save any headache.

their are the countries policies and then there is if the car rentals will really make you have it.
i am looking for greece in particular but if they will not rent without i would go to a nearby country.
i understand its not so hard to get but im in israel now

Ok. I see. No sorry I am not able to help with your specific question, but as JJ said my post is related to the title. That means anyone clicking on this thread has some kind of interest in this topic and the info I provided may be of interest to them and perhaps even to you.
I always try to post with caution, as there are some scary DDFers around here and therefor asked why you felt my above post was "not related". I also personally appreciate as much side info on a topic as possible and there for I try contribute in that way to.
