Was wondering if someone can help- want to go away in Pocono area, 2 ppl with 9 month old baby
Has to be beautiful hotel- near kosher food is a plus, any recommendations ?

The first group had various issues for me (too small, dates, etc.), and the first one here is booked for my dates, but second one looks promising. Thanks again!

Btw, I just found another easy way to find private pools. Tripadvisor, which owns FlipKey, lets you sort by private pool, something you can't even do on Flipkey itself. It's not foolproof (some community pools still slip through, and occasionally a hot tub or swimmable pond shows up as well), but it certainly helps to find a private pool quickly. Only annoying thing is, you can't filter and then move the map to change region, like you can on Homeaway/VRBO.

We're looking to go away 8/28-8/31. We've more or less settled on the Poconos area. I originally planned on coming up with an itinerary of activities, and then choosing a rental based on that, but for the right rental I'd reverse that process :-)

omg just looked back to find this and its exactly my dates! prob wont use that rental though since she has a four night minimum

I wasn't running to book it just yet, still looking at options. I assume the 4 night minimum thing is from experience, because the page indicates 2 night minimum and lets me quote those dates.

While we're at it, how many men will you be (in case we end up in the same area)? I'll probably have 4.

i contacted her and thats what she replied. well be 2 men but you shouldnt have a problem with minyan in the summer

im finding it very hard to navigate. first off, although they tell me that 8 properties are available with my filters, they only show me one, while the rest are only "almost" matches. am i doing something wrong?

I did Pocono Mountains region, put in dates (8/28-31) and selected 1 filter - private pool. It says 12 matching rentals, then shows all 12, followed by a red bar, below which is all the non-matching results.

Looking for feedback from people that have been in the Poconos this time of year. Is AC in the bedrooms a must have? I'm looking at a place that I consider both fantastic and a fantastic price. But they only have AC in the main area, not in the bedrooms. How hot does it really get this time of year (I'll actually be there end of august)?

It really depends where you are. By us it gets cold at night (although it takes awhile for it to cool down once night starts. I wake up freezing every morning. But might not necessarily be the same by you.

Where's by us? What does it depend on? This particular place with no AC in the bedrooms is in Arrowhead Lake.

Why don't you google the weather and see if it goes down drastically at night.
According to google it looks like you domt have a big as a drop usually at night like by me. The weather here drops 25° at night on average but by you only 15. Looks like arrowhead lake has generally lower weather.

Hmm... accuweather shows predicted/historical lows of 55-56 for our dates. Seems okay to me. I just have to convince the rest of my group that it'll be fine.

Why does everyone think that they can use the term poconos to ask a question in general? Its like asking where you can find a restaurant in "New York".
I'm sure scranton has a minyan and Chapman's Lake has a minyan then. Those are both the "Poconos".
