Anyone know anything about extending a lease?
Im finishing a 2 year lease and want to extend it another year or two in order to maximize the original downpayment.

Was told by leasing company that you have to contact the finance dept that you are paying and ask them for an extension, Usually give from 3-12 months but at same payments and amount of mileage.

Why? If you pay a down payment covering 2years(as opposed to the 3 years) and you extend a year, you just got an additional year with the previous downpayment.

The reason I was saying it was because, if your lease is up and you want it for longer to cash in on your down payment that means you want to use the money you already paid for to the full extent.
In that case , if you turn your lease into a finance, then most your money stays with you, as you will keep the car.

True but then Im stuck paying for the car for many years. Im looking to cash in as much as possible and get my moneys worth on downpayment.
