Anyone know anything about this $1000 rebate form Edmunds if you buy or lease a Nissan?? Seems like alot of the "frum" leasing companies are taking these after they lease you your car... Seems to me that this falls into the category of "fraud" .. The T&C of the rebate states not for dealers...

I believe that is why the price on the altima is so low now. Its factoring in the rebate.....

frum leasing companies are not dealers. they are facilitators. that's why there are no non frum ones. Everyone else leases from the dealership, the frum guys shop around dealerships, make deals with them etc. and then put it together for you. if you look at your paperwork you're leasing from a dealer, not xxx leasing company. their name is not there anywhere.
Now, it might be a legitimate argument that they can't get the rebate on your behalf, but that's what they're doing.

I happen to be shopping for a lease as well, and am trying to figure out how the insurance on the nissan altima and honda accord compares to the acura, infinity, and maxima class.

Is anyone renting those cars currently? what is your monthly insurance payment? What city do you live in? is your driving record clean?

I live in Brooklyn, and have a clean record. I pay $165/mo with Geico on my Honda Accord 2012

It would be stupid of me to rent an Altima at $180/month and pay $200/mo in insurance if I can lease a higher end car for $280/month and pay closer to $100/month insurance.

Why would your insurance drop with a more expensive car (especially in NY)?

Price out the different options - either with Geico, or call a broker. No reason to guess when you can just find out for certain.

For those that are in the market now for an Altima. Edmunds.com is giving a $1000 visa gift card to customers who lease or buy a Nissan Altima. I was told that you have to go on to Edmunds website and search for a new Accord or Camry and this special pops up. it may take a few searches for it to come up, but I was told by a reliable source that it works and people have received their gift cards already.

Just because a car costs more doesn't mean insurance will be more, especially considering often expensive cars have more safety features

the safety features  just give x amount discount on the insurance premium,
but the actual premium on a expensive car is definitely more money.

Looking for a mid size SUV for $350 or less and very little if anything down.

I need power seats and leather but am open to anything else.
I would rather not a chevy, honda, or toyota since their seats are pretty inhuman.

Thanks for the leads.
