iLease is great. I've used him and referred him to friends and my own father. 201-837-1234

Another vote for iLease here. Even though I was buying (not leasing), he gave me the best price of all the heimishe places.

What do I need to know about leasing? (I'll update the wiki with what I learn).

What is a typical down payment? (I suppose as percentage of monthly payment)
What day to day costs do I bear? Oil changes? Tires? Brakes? Windshield wipers?
How much will I owe when I return it? How can I manage that risk?

I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

There is no such thing as a typical down payment. every deal is structured differently.

that may be true but at least in lakewood well over 90% of leases have $1395 down thereby making it typical

+1 - after sinking about 1k in the used camry I just bought (04 model for around 4K) which is allegedly in great shape I am seriously thinking of selling and just leasing. If I am anyways spending 1 to 1.4K a year on repairs plus car depreciation I feel like I am better off leasing something cheap like a civic etc. and not dealing with the hassle of car repairs - plus I would be driving a new model.

Am I missing something here? I am not in a rush so I can technically wait until there's a good deal on a lower end base model sedan.

Keep in mind civic insurance and accord insurance may make up the difference in lease price.

Insurance is a good point as I am currently only paying approx. 150 IIRC per 6 months or so on the Camry as I didn't take comprehensive and I got a multi car discount etc.

Why would there be a large difference between a civic and accord? Crash ratings?

I believe there is a difference between how states structure leases,  and that affects taxes that are paid

Need to differentiate between a down payment and taxes and fees.

The 1395 is mostly (all?) the first months payment, DMV, title and other fees.

Civic is more of a teen car.
