Is it a poor idea to extend your lease past 36 months? Toyota is offering me to extend my lease month to month for 6 months. I am considering it because it seems that May is an expensive time to lease cars. I am considering extending through August, which is around the time  the 2017's come out. My concern is that the three yr 36 month bumper to bumper warranty will have ended.  Has anyone done this and did they charge you for new tires, brakes etc?

It would be really helpful if we could just make a list of reputable leasing companies in the wiki. Any company you've used and were happy enough with to recommend, put on there. I'm trying to get quotes from as many places as possible right now, and it's a big chore to comb through the whole thread for all the different company names that were mentioned.

we lease a sedan and mini-van every 3-4 years. We sometimes extend the lease for an extra year if we like the car (Hondas and Toyotas).

A lot of companies won't let you out of your lease of there's less than 6 months left on the lease.

our leasing guy is offering incentives to hand over the lease early in exchange for a $1K rebate on a new Odyssey lease. So we may do that next month, instead. (Of course this comes after we just paid $588 out of pocket for new rotors and 4 new brake pads yesterday.)

Just finance the used odyssey and use it for many years!

Confirmed, at Deals on Wheels. It's the SXT+, seems to be fully loaded, or at least close to it. The promo driving this price ends on 5/16, though obviously they may be out by then.

its one model down from the fully loaded (R/T) but its missing a couple things..
No power liftgate
No Power Front Driver and Passenger Seats
No Leather-Trimmed Bucket Seats
No backup camera!!!! thats a must (IMHO)
for the fully loaded it will price out at about 259$

And I personally don't consider any of those things critical. Just to comment and add to your list though:

Power Front Driver and Passenger Seats - To be clear, both have power driver side, R/T adds passenger side.
No Leather-Trimmed Bucket Seats - SXT+ has "Leather and Suede Bucket Seats". Honestly I prefer cloth, so I'm not gonna cry over "Leather-Trimmed" vs "Leather and Suede".

Seems the R/T also adds climate control instead of manual, and access to a few other options.

+1 Yes, that's the smart way for lower monthly payments. But we don't like paying for maintenance later on.
You can get away without much upkeep other than oil changes for the first 4 yrs of the lease.

we've bought one in the past and sold it before the next lease. (There's a $2K tax/license transfer fee that we had to pay up front.)
However, for a similar monthly price, it's good to get a new model. We'd sell this 2012 Odyssey EX for $20,800. Deep bronze/grey color.
Otherwise, we'll just trade it in for a 2016. (Colors link: http://automobiles.honda.com/tools/build-price/colors.aspx?ModelID=RL5H4GEW&ModelName=Odyssey&ModelYear=2016)
