I'm new to leasing and would like some insight on what hidden charges there are to be aware of...
Does it make sense that honcker is $40-$60 cheaper than other Jewish leasing companies?

I have heard many get screwed at mainstream leasing guys...

Realize that when any company brings the car and paperwork you don't have to sign unless you agree with the contract presented.

Can someone explain how it works? What's the difference when I lease directly from my Ford dealer or go through a local company like PAL?

When you use companies like PAL, Westmount etc. they shop around for you. If you don't have a specific car in mind, they can tell you who is running the best deals. Even if you do have a specific car in mind, different dealerships have different deals and different rebates. These guys shop around for you and get you the best available deals.

I personally recommend getting a few quotes from PAL, Roadmaster, Westmount etc. Lakewood is very competitive. After you get the quotes, let them know you are shopping around and they will try to beat the competition. You can get them to throw in extra miles, throw in the waiver, and lower prices.

I just did this, then I went to the local dealer. They started out very high. They are great salesmen and very aggressive. But they couldn't match the leasing companies. They just couldn't put it together.

Leasing companies do not tell you how they get the rates lower. Many times they are using rebates which they somehow find. My dealer couldn't get the same rebates.

As I said, IME it all depends on the car and what deals are out there.
I just leased 2 cars with Honcker and had no hidden fees or anything added by signing.
And I haven’t heard any personal stories reporting that as well.
(Only from other leasing companies...- which as someone said earlier, I’ve heard many stories of local companies hiding fees...)
Not that this is proof that it never happened...

No, I did lease a loaner a few years ago,  I got exact same warranty, free maintenance  etc  , as on their new cars. When returned I had to replace 1 tire which was really bad, and that was it.

Thanks. I pulled the trigger yesterday at my land rover dealership.
They offered me the following, i thought it was pretty good:

Range Rover Evoque SE Premium 2017 Loaner. 1300 Miles on it.
10K Miles/year
1st month and DMV upfront ($1K total)
$499.60 monthly payment @39 months
Payment of $1250 to Chrysler Capital to pay off the remaining months of my Jeep lease by Land Rover (5 months)

To get a good price at a dealer, you need to come very prepared with all your facts before walking in the door.

You always start off by negotiating as much as you can from the sales price, then you apply the incentives and rebates that you are eligible for.
Showing them that you know the residual value and MF will greatly help.
Leasehacker is a good website for learning the ropes of leasing from dealers. https://leasehackr.com/  They also have a very active forum.

I'm pretty sure they get a 1 time payment in the beginning of the lease, but I'm sure someone on the forum can confirm the way they get paid!

Very simple, when you lease a car it gets leased through a bank so the bank pays the dealership for the full amount of the car and a small amount whatever the leasing companies mark-up is goes to them

Does a 4x4 have any other benefits besides being able to get out from deep snow?  Also now days with SUVs having AWD, would it be a difference getting out from deep snow having AWD vs 4WD?

Off roading.
"All-wheel drive is in some ways similar to the full-time 4WD system in that it also sends torque to all four wheels constantly. However, most modernAWD systems don't offer drivers the option to operate in two-wheel drive and, unlike the 4WD systems, the differential between the front and rear axles cannot be locked."
