Considering leasing a Subaru Forester. What other cars should I consider within same budget? Need AWD and I like that it's not a big step to get into the car.

Well if budget is a factor I'd start by looking at what's on sale that month

PAL has the Mitsubishi outlander sport for $199, 2 years, 10k.
