« on: July 20, 2010, 08:05:54 AM »
I would like to get a new cheap car lease?
I am looking for a simple stripped car, nothing fancy.
Does anyone know of any particular models or any good deals?
Thanks

I am also in the market and found a stripped corolla for 155/month incl tax (a civic would be something similar) or a camry LE for 189 incl tax. Blueberry Leasing in Lakewood

The million dollar question is how much down, cuz most leasing companies charge more or less the same, they just have different creative ways how to break it down.

The edmunds forums (prices paid and buying experience) have separate forums for leasing experiences for each car.  They provide a great deal of information on the current money factors and residuals as well as the prices people paid.

If you're looking for the best deal, find a car that is being offered with a special money factor (see links below).  The money factor is the financing rate used in the lease calculation.  The lower the better.  (I just got a Venza --- money factor was .0005, which is equivalent to 1.2% financing).  With the money factor in place, you negotiate the purchase price as low as possible.

Also, you should consider fixing your out-the-door payment (e.g., $1,000) when you compare offers.  Simply tell each dealer that's what you want to pay out the door.  The out-the-door numbers used in advertising are random and created only to get the monthly payment at a nice looking number.  You can put down more or less and get the same deal with only the payment increasing or decreasing based on how much you put down (it's usually around $30/mo per $1,000 down).  There is no fixed amount you must put down (although dealers may require you to cover registration fees, etc up front).  The common belief is to to put as little down as possible in case the car is stolen or totalled b/c you may not get back what you put down.

Below are some helpful links.  I've also attached an awesome excel spreadsheet I created to negotiate my lease in June 2010 (a 2010 Venza).  Supposedly, there's an ipod app too for $4.

1. http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/WebX/.ef17997/.  (the awesome edumunds forums)

2. http://www.newcars.com/car-rebates (shows the financing rates for leases for almost all models --- they've already converted the money factor to an interest rate by multipling it by 2400).

3. http://www.ridewithg.com/index.php/category/lease-rates/ (another site that lists special lease rates for certain models).

4. http://latimes.p2ionline.com/auto/ (links to ads in the LA Times, which are viewable as PDF.  Updated daily --- there are more ads on weekends than during the week).

These guys play such games with lease numbers.
There was a place here advertising Mazda 3's for $49/month and Mazda 6's for $59/month with $2,499 down.

Then you go in and find out that after all their "fees" and stuff it's really $5,000 down plus those monthly rates...
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

haven't actually leased yet but from what I've found plaza auto leasing (best found on facebook) seem to have good deals and be pretty honest. obviously these frum leasing companies only help in the ny area, if you're anywhere else, you can always try your luck with leasebusters.com or swapalease.com

True- it depends who you deal with. I actually leased from Blueberry Leasing 2 months ago and the numbers he gave me were exactly what i paid - very honest and great deal. I am now working with him on a second lease to replace my second car which lease is up soon.
Obviously there are plenty good and bad dealers out there. Just stating my experience.

ceejay  I just sent you back a message
He can do the same deals as anyone els  (he even will beat ) but you may want to look in to getting acura TL which is the same level car and its cheaper (398.00 inc taxes)  and in addition there is no return fee (which infinity will have) and acura also gives 1500.00 towards damadge waiver and infinity does not. (They charge you for any scratch you have)

Although the Toyota has higher MSRP, it may end up being cheaper to lease b/c the money factor is really low.  Thus, almost the entire portion of your lease payment would be for depreciation and not finance charges.  I think the money factor is 0.00049 which is the equivalent of 1.176%.

The Kia Sedona is a cheaper minivan (with good reviews), but your lease payment may be only a little less (and could be the same or more) if there aren't special deals for it.

googe leasing direct ny but call because the prices on their site doesnt really reflect the good current deals....

Anyone know where you can get the Infiniti deal for 408/month?
You could get the G37x for less then $300. If you have 408 you can do much better.
