No

Isn't there a gift option of some sort, which cost an outrageous fee?

I supposed, but would anyone really pay $27.50+$30 processing to transfer 1,000 miles?
Might as well buy the points from SPG...

Agreed, but wouldn't that still be the right answer?

I.e. there is an option but it's so expensive that it isn't worth it.

Techinically you might be Right, but Practically Dan is Right

sort of like someone asking is there a way to go from Lakewood to Brooklyn w/o paying $8 to take a tunnel or bridge

Besides swimming across a person can drive North to the end of the Palisides and take the Bear Mt bridge and pay $1, but they will end up using alot more then $7 in gas to do it. So while the answer is Tech Yes , Practically the answer is No

I agree with Dan on this 1

While at it, how would you drive from: Cabo San Pío, Argentina to Capetown, South Africa.  No in depth, just a general idea.

I could be wrong but I dont think alot of people who havent had the Pleasure to meet or speak with SF really understand him. Hes not American and that can lead to misunderstandings. sort of like the person on FT who uses ASL (printed sign language) it took alot of us awhile to understand why what they post doesnt always makes sense.(at least he has a legit reason I DONT) once a few us explained it all and even Randy at that, it was understood why his posts are like they are. and some people to begin with were attacking him for how he posted, no longer

Dan, in general, you're right.
But this keeps on happening all over DD.
SF posts ALOT, he posts on the grand majority of posts, but the vast majority of his posts are off-topic or a branched-out topic and it just kills the previous conversation.
So a reader clicks on a post because he's interested in a certain topic, but the information relevant only lasts until SF pulls one of his smart ones.
Seriously, I'm not here to fight or bash, but let's keep it real guys.
I can say that due to the above issue, more than 50% of the threads on this forum end up being about something totally diferent than what they start with (and pretty early on!!).

I didn't realize my straightforward, on topic (albeit of questionable value) post would be such flamebait.
