Yes. SIM cards are free and there is no monthly charge and no expiration date for the pay-as-you-go plan.
You said in the OP that there is an expiration date (if you don't use it for 120 days.....). To me thats an expiration date.

There is no expiration date on any funds you deposit that it has to be used up by. For example, if you were to deposit $10 (or any amount) today, you can keep that money in your account indefinitely... i.e. you could still have money left over from your $10 deposit in two years from now if you never finished using it up.

There is a requirement of using your phone at least *once every four months* in order to keep the account active and so that you shouldn't lose your phone number. That simply means you need to make one phone call for less than a minute every four months. Grand total cost? *Two Cents*. Or if you want to look at it from an annual basis, it will cost you *six cents* per year (coming out of your original balance) to keep your account, phone number and balance active indefinitely.

In case anyone is interested in blocking web on their phone, which I was since I need this phone for my kids, you can request that lycamobile block your data. First I tried to get it blocked and the rep erroneously told me (even after checking with his supervisor!) that's it's impossible. But I HUCAed and another more knowledgeable rep blocked the data on my account, making it impossible for the phone to access web but still calls and can text as well.

Does anyone know if an unlocked blackberry 9900 would work on LyncaMobile for the $19 per month unlimited calls & texts?

Or if you want to look at it from an annual basis, it will cost you *six cents* per year (coming out of your original balance) to keep your account, phone number and balance active indefinitely.
Which means it expires. Six cents or less it still costs six cents otherwise it expires either thru the six cents or thru the "non expiring service fee" if I don't make that phone call.
It doesn't expire would mean:
a. If I don't use the phone for 120 days (or whatever other number of days) they send me back a check refunding the money.
b. If I don't use the phone for 120 days (or whatever other number of days) they deactivate my number but allow me somehow to use that money as credit for a future account.

Now compared to others (so I assume from your post) the money expires and gets lost after x amount of days or whatever. So their policy is less of grab on the expiration but still expires.

My problem with "doesn't expire" is that its used as a selling point. No such thing, they cant keep accounting rolling over for ever, they HAVE to expire it for bookkeeping purposes.

Lyca does not advertise anywhere that its funds "doesn't expire". They are pretty clear on their website about their terms in the T&C.

But like you said, Lyca's policy on allowing funds to remain available even if you never again add money to the account is unique and pretty cool, since none of the other carriers are that liberal. The others demand you keep adding money (usually at least $20 or $30) every month or two.

I was looking into switching from sprint to page plus for a phone mainly used for voice and text, with bits and pieces of date here and there. I'm really liking this $29 plan.

Does anyone have experience with the T-Mobile network in Brooklyn?
Page Plus is not going to work on a T-Mobile phone.

You're right! I had no service in the vicinity of the Brooklyn Bridge.
As far as  the Catskills goes, it works in some places (okay in Monticello) but less in others (South Fallsburg).

Just wanted to say that I have been using it for a few days now (in NY area), and so far its been great!  Only use talk&text, so can't review data option.

Thanks for the heads up.  Definitely cheapest deal out there!
