To pay or not to pay that is the question!

last summer i got a $63 parking meter ticket on a rental car in L.A., i put it away planning to pay and lost/forgot about it. I just found it now and i called up to pay and the fine has grown to a whopping $175!!

I have not received any bills in the mail or any other notice. It seems to me that if the fine is associated with my license i would have received something by now (it's been 11 months!)

Anyone have any info on how the system works?

I have received a few parking tickets as well from Hertz in Nyc close to 3 years ago never bothered to check and have never received any mail. So it seems fair to say u dont have to worry.
But red light cameras get billed to me right away on my card

I got one in San Fran a number of yrs ago and was charged a $50 proccessing fee by the rental car agency for not informing them about it and that I would take care of it. And all the rental agency did was have the ticket forwarded to me even though I planned on paying it

Can not paying parking tickets on rental cars lead to the car rental agency sending the bill to a collection agency. we are talking Avis to be specific. They sent a request to be paid a year after the incident, plus fees etc;.

I have a couple outstanding from Israel about 5 years ago. Haven't heard anything.

The ticket does not go on your license, there for no one will send anything to you. Not sure what the car rental will do.

As soon as I retrun from Israel, I always report the credit card used with the Israeli car rental as lost, otherwise the charges just never stops

Also once I have a ticket on windshield can I just keep my car parked or am I going to get another ticket?

I got a speed camera ticket on the beltway (dc) in a rental (enterprise) which ended up in collections

I just got a charge from Avis tel aviv six months after leaving israel, I called chase and told them it was a fraudulent charge, there removed it for me.

Got a parking ticket in Seattle on an Enterprise rental. Ticket says penalty added after 15 days which is just about now. $47+ $4 convenience fee. Should I pay or ignore it? Anyone know anything about seattle, enterprise or general rental policies?

If you don't pay the ticket the car owner (in this case enterprise) will be billed for it. They will in turn bill your credit card for it and probably charge you a fee as well.
