The weird thing is - now that I'm looking at it - it's not showing the IPs that it was showing on Friday. So they changed, but not what I changed them to!

That is strange. Where does the IP it Ida showing lead to? I would probably do the change over again

Hmmm... looks like CloudFlare. I wonder why that would be? (I do use cloudflare)

I have a website whose domain is registered with one company, but is hosted at another company. The website is currently down (since Friday), and the host told me that the A records need to be changed. I updated the A records to the proper IP, but for some reason it's not propagating (it's been 48 hours). I see the wrong IP on whatsmydns.net, but I don't see that IP in the DNS file at the host, or at the domain registrar!

Any ideas?

This doesn't look like a host issue though. Looks like an issue at the registrar.

registrar says it's a cloudflare issue. I submitted a ticket over there...

I recommend NameSilo for domain, and Hostgator for host.

I have 1and1 as registrar and hosted by Arvixe. Very happy. Good support from Arvixe the one time I needed it.

If 1and1 registrar is as bad as their hosting, then I cannot understand why you are happy with them.
I've run, managed, or set up approx 5-10 sites with hostgator (hosting) and extremely happy with them. Namesilo has been amazing as well.

Never used them for hosting, but I have not had any problems with them as registrar including when I had my email through them. Never even had the opportunity to deal with their support. From looking online it seems that your experience with Hostgator is not everyone's and that is why I decided to try Arvixe and have been very happy.
