I opened a new account with AA with my parents' address, can I open a Citi CC with my address linked to my AA with a different address?

if s/o got an email about 6 months ago that AA shut down his accounts, any reason not to get a new citi card? anything to do before like opening account himself with a different address?

Almost no way you'll be able to use them, I would try opening an account with a totally different name and address and then sell them. They might get your info from the CC though in which case they'll probably shut you down anyways but I doubt it.

Hard to believe it was solely for churning NL mailers. Should be very easy for AA to shut everyone who did it, which they didn't do.

 Most frozen accounts look fine. You can put flights on hold and points balance shows the correct balance.

If you want to know if your account is frozen, try booking a flight or hotel. If it won't ticket,  you know the account is on death row.

Call aa and see if after putting in your AA number you get auto transferred to a dep't that's closed now.
Try booking a hotel in Ho Chi Min on useaamiles.com and see if it lets.
