When I was filling out the paperwork to get a Quebec Marriage license, I noticed that the forms had a slot for 'Spouse A' and 'Spouse B' and each one had a gender box that had to be checked off. When I pointed it out to The Rov (who I was pretty close with at the time) he pointed me to the following Medrash:

I don't see how this is kicking the can down the road. Striking down DOMA is huge (especially for all the lawyers who will make more money off of this)

The print is unclear. Does it say "Hamabul" (the flood) or "Hasvol" (suffering)?

The issue here is that you, like most of the world, have already become immune to this. This is exactly what their intention was all along: blur the lines until you can no longer tell the difference between right and wrong.

We all still know right from wrong. Maybe some of us believe and individual has a constitutional right to be wrong.

In a long line of insults and attacks on the Jewish people comes this new war on holiness and sanctity. Today the Supreme Court knocked down DOMA, the Defense of Marriage Act and California's Proposition 8, paving the way for legal Toeva marriage across this once G-d fearing country.

We now recommend that all Jews obtain storm, wind, and flooding insurance since lots of hurricanes, tornadoes, and tsunamis are sure to hit all of us.

Please keep your daughters indoors at all times since we fully expect caravans of lesbians to be out on recruitment patrol. Additionally, you must be vigilant in keeping an eye on your sons. If there is the slightest hint that he may turn Toieva, PLEASE report him to your nearest orthodox rabbi. If he has briefs that are any other color than white or black or if he begins buying ties with floral prints or if his voice starts to get a bit too soft REPORT him.

It's interesting that Jews have such a strong opinion on this. Any legislation/court ruling that doesn't condone killing Jews is fine by me. They can do whatever they want, its their country.

Tend to agree, but I can see the fear of societal breakdown. I do however think that most of the uproar is homophobic in nature and not truly 'religiously' motivated.
