Just bring your own. There are so many good places to eat, I'm sure you can try one place as takeout.

Hello all,

I just stayed at the Century Park Hotel for a night. Let me give some background:

So we decided to return to Palm Springs but this time take our kids, then do 2 days in Disney. Original plan was to take the red eye back to NY from Anaheim. A week before the  trip, dw thought it wouldn't be a good idea to take 2 little kids on a red eye.  Changing the flights was the easy part, spent a few extra miles,, but it was fine. So, I thought I would stay in our  hotel in Anaheim another night, but after using a lot of miles for the trip thus far, I tried using a free night certificate, wasn't eligible for that hotel. I tried booking our room for one more night, the price was too high. I also forgot to mention, someone else was traveling with us who isn't family, so I wanted separate space for that person, plus a potential space for the kids. Our flight was now out of LAX, so I figured Pico area. Hard to find multiple room suites in the area. I ultimately chose this place called the Century Park Hotel. I booked a massive room for my wife and the kids to each have our own space, and a room for the other traveler, all for less than what I would have paid for a night at the Marriot.

This might have been a mistake...yeah, my room was large and spacious, but the building felt like a refurbished cheap apartment building.

Perhaps someone here knows the history of the place, perhaps @Yehoshua.

All I can say is, this was a big step down from the Westin where I was the previous night's

I have stayed at both, but years ago. My recollection is that they are pretty similar.

That's about right. The Marriott is probably slightly nicer, but the RI comes with free breakfast...

Pat's is the best these days follows by Charcoal, & La Gondola. Shiloh's is probably next.

I only have N-of-1 experience with each of the above (and zero with a charcoal).  Our favorite was Shiloh — great steaks, nice ambiance (outdoors), and good service.  La Góndola was overpriced and didn’t like sitting right on the sidewalk.  Pat’s food was uninspired but maybe I ordered poorly (Thai noodles, I think).

Thinking of doing Fish Grill Malibu, Tierra Sur, Lenny's Casita, and BH Thai. Anything else worth trying or new?
