   [th]Description[/th]
   [th]Area - Address [/th]
   [th]Supervision[/th]
Tierra Sur At Herzog Winery in Oxnard 5/5 stars-The menu here is constantly changing but is always amazing.  The flavors you will try here are unlike any you will get at another kosher restaurant in the world.
Oxnard -

La Gondola4.5/5 stars
-Avocado eggrolls to die for (I had it and I didn't like it
I can't eat Avocado when it's warm, I'm sure others can't too-Sillypainter).  Great Bread with garlic margarine on the house(agree-Sillypainter) Great Gondola Burger special for lunch with excellent pasta or a soup.  And the Chai Steak with Carmelized Steak Sauce and arguably the best kosher ribs out there.   I'm getting hungry thinking about this place!
Pico

Meatos - https://meatos.us/

http://charcoalgrillbar.com/

Shiloh's4/5 stars
-Great baby back ribs and peppercorn steak.  They serve steaks with a number of dipping sauces which is pretty cool.  Also had some delicious key lime pie.
I did have a bad experience here with really bad food though...and service can be poor here as well.
Beverly Hills Thai4/5 stars-It can get very crowded so it's best to make a reservation in advance.
Jeff's 3.5/5 stars-Homemade onion rings, homemade sausages, Steak Sandwich, Western burger, lots of good and greasy stuff here.
PKD (Pico Kosher Deli)3.5/5 stars
-Excellent Deli-style food along with equally good homemade onion rings. No Reservations, but rarely more than a few minute wait. closes at 9 PM.
Pat's3/5 stars
-Either you love this upscale steakhouse or you hate it.  I used to hate it until my brother became good friends with the bartender.  Now when I go back with him we're treated to a feast for a king! Don't miss the bread pudding dessert!
Shanghai2.5/5 stars
-LA hasn't had very good Chinese since Sholom Cuisine closed.  This place is decent though.
Harissa4/5 stars-Home of the LA-famous pretzle challah! They offer Middle Eastern/Mediterranean/North African cuisine.  They have lots of seating and long hours.

Milk/Parve:

1. Fish Grill
4.5/5 stars
-The best fish you'll ever have, period.  I'm not such a fish person, but their Grilled Salmon on Angel Hair Pasta with a huge order of well-seasoned fries...YUM! Get the grilled salmon sandwich.

2. Milky Way Reopened, brand new place worth a visit
4/5 stars
-Steven Spielberg's adorable mom will come shmooze with you and show you his movie posters in the back.  Cheeze blintzes and lemon tart are awesome. Chimichangas, potato latkes, and more all at prices that haven't been raised in decades.

3. Pizza Nosh (Agoura Hills)
4/5 stars
-Excellent pizza and Eggplant Parmesean, worth a stop if you're in the area.

4. Pizza Mayven
4/5 stars
-Good plain pizza and excellent fries, and that's about it.

5. Nagila Pizza
3/5 stars
-Good but pricey stuffed crust pizza, and that's about it. There are some big fans of their Naco's out there as well.

6. Trattoria Natalie
4.5/5 stars
-A trattoria is translated from Italian as a tavern, and that's what this restaurant feels like.  They have a cool on-table feature: its a paging device with three bottons.  One botton calls for water, the other for the bill, the last for a waiter.  The food is very good and prices not too expensive.

7. Meshuga for Sushi/Meshuga for Sushi 2
4/5
-With 3 locations (one in La Brea, one in Pico, and one in the valley), they offer great sushi at reasonable prices.  They have some space to eat in the restaurant.  They have long hours and a decent lunch menu.

IF you eat non-CY:
-Sweet Rose Creamery, on Beverly is Kosher and considered some of the best ice cream in LA by foodies http://www.sweetrosecreamery.com/, usually have 4 or 5 non dairy flavors
-Toppings Frozen Yogurt 349 S Robertson Blvd, good frozen yogurt, usually have a non dairy flavor or two

If you eat CY:
-Milky's at 1429 S Robertson Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90035 recently became kosher and is cholov yisrael.

Breakfast/Bakery:
1. Cafe Elite
4.5/5 stars
-Amazing cake/crumb donuts along with your usual breakfast food.

2. Schwartz Bakery/Circa NY
4/5 stars
-A great but expensive bakery.  The crumb cheese danish is a personal favorite, as is their wonderful Caramel cake and "kit kat" chocolate rice crispy bars.
They also now serve breakfast in their Pico and Fairfax location.  I had the combo Pancake+Waffle+Franch Toast meal with fruit salad that was very good.
On friday's only they sell raspberry cheese pockets - they always sell out of them early.

3. La Brea Bagel
3/5 stars
-Very good bagels with all kinds of toppings and other breakfast food.

4. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf - 7235 Beverly Blvd
4/5 stars
-The only coffee bean in LA that has Cholov Yisroel upon request and offers 3 Pas Yisroel bakery items from Delice; Chocolate Almond croissant, Custard twist, and chocolate croissant - also upon request.

SHABBOS TAKE OUT OPTIONS

1. Ralph's - both the Pico and La Brea locations have a kosher section with takeout

4. Lieders La Brea: 129 N La Brea Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90036

Jeff's closes at 11 IIRC if you can get there in time. Otherwise only Shnitzly and Burgers Bar will be open I think.
Jeffs officially closes at 11, but I can tell you from experience if it's a slow night, they will easily close up shop much earlier

So is there anywhere else on Pico that might work?
I remember when a coke was a nickel, and you could buy VRs in OD.

I am arriving in LAX July 29 1:00 am with my family and would like to stay in hotel that has 24 hours free shuttle and that is walking distance to a shacharit minyan as I will not have a car on that day.  Any options??

I am getting picked up that same morning so not worth it to rent a car for a few hours.  Any suggestions from LA residents?

There are no minyanim within walking distance of any airport hotel afaik.

You can Uber the Family to Pico and while they have breakfast you can daven.

Or Uber when you land to a hotel in Pico and let them sleep while you daven

I loved the warner bro's tour, so if you are doing that, and some other things it is probably good value.

I would love if someone can tell me if my trip planning makes sense.
I took all tips and suggestions from the many pages of this thread and the wiki, so thanks to everyone who gave me all these ideas and good advice.
We are going for 2 days then heading to Vegas, so would like to know if there is something we should be cutting out, if it is too much for this amount of time, something I am missing, etc. Thanks!
Day 1
Landing 9:30AM at LAX, drop off luggage at Four Points by Sheraton Culver City (if I can get early check-in).
Drive to Los Angeles, go for lunch to Milky Way.
Head to Rodeo Drive and then Hollywood to see star's homes. If have time maybe a TVshow filiming? Head to Jeff's or PKD for dinner, then the Grove, then go back to hotel.
Day 2
Head to Los Angeles for Shacharit and breakfast at Schwartz/Circa(groupon). Get lunch to go there as well. Drive to Santa Monica and Venice Beach, bike rides and the promenade at Santa Monica. Then head to Warner Bros. Studio tour, then to Ralph's in Sherman Oaks to get something for dinner, then drive out to Vegas.
Would love to try out La Gondola lunch special but can't see how to fit it in on Day 2. Day 1 is sunday and they don't do it then.
If anyone knows of a restaurant close to Warner Bros. I'd love to hear about it!
Thanks!

Santa Monica to Burbank can take a while, expect traffic. If you take surface streets, La Gondola is on the way.
Maybe daven in Chabad of SM, breakfast at coffee bean (not CY) and get an earlier start? give you more time for lunch / WB
Also, keep in mind that mornings can be a little nippy.

Some thoughts:
IMO, the only appeal that Milky Way holds is that Steven Spielberg's mother is the owner, and the prices don't seem to have changed since she opened. The food is not bad, but not great. Would you consider something else? Maybe Fish Grill, Meshuga for Sushi, Mexikosher?
TV Show filmings are long. You have to be there hours in advance to line up. For example, for a filming of the Voice, I arrived at around 1 and didn't leave until 7. There is a lot of time standing around in line.
Are you using a certain map to find the stars' homes? Most don't actually live in Hollywood.
I think day 2 is a bit packed- I don't think you will have time to do Venice, 3rd street, and bikes in the same morning. Aim for 2 of the 3.
As far as Kosher near Warner Bros, your best bet is Valley Village/ North Hollywood. Not especially close, but there are a few fast food type places- Le Sushi and La Pizza come to mind.
Bear in mind, LA traffic is terrible. I wouldn't try to drive to leave for Las Vegas during rush hour, it could easily add an extra 1-2 hours to the drive.

I don't think so. Traffic heading east in the afternoon/evening is bumper to bumper, so heading to Las Vegas from Santa Monica/Venice will be terrible.

ok so any suggestions what to do on day 2? I can give up on something want to make the most of my time I have there. Would leave around 7:30pm to vegas if that wouldn't be too much traffic.
I would definitely do the beach, that's quintessential LA.
I personally hate Venice- I find it seedy, dirty, and overall a bit too "hippie" for me.
Santa Monica has a nice pier, with bike rentals right there.
Or you can drive to Malibu, which is much more quiet. There isn't really any walking to do there, but there is a kosher restaurant, fish grill.
Would you enjoy horseback riding? There are trails around the Hollywood sign.
If anything I would say skip the grove and Hollywood  and do the studio tour instead on day 1.

Just a thought, but something i would do -
Start the day in Santa Monica (If you're staying in Culver City I don't see how you can justify the time to drive in to Pico just for breakfast).
+1 on skipping Venice Beach, unless you like aging homeless hipsters. Rent bikes at the pier, or at the place just South in Dorothy Green Park.
Go to Fish Grill in Malibu for lunch. Drive back through Topanga Canyon or Malibu Canyon, it's a nice drive and you'll avoid the freeways.
pick up the 101 S and go to WB, if you hit the 101 before 3 or so you'll be fine with traffic. (relatively, it's LA).
stay there till 6 or so, head over to Valley Village /N Hollywood (use waze to avoid the hot spots) and pick up food, daven mincha etc.
get on the freeway toward vegas about seven.
