that and the front lawns that look like deserts of sand, rocks, or concrete. The faux grass doesn't look so bad. Hope that they come up with good alternatives soon. (Water & electricity.)

The city offers money to homeowners who replace their grass with drought tolerant plants. They pay depending on how much space you have and whether you're doing the front and/or back of your house. For an average front they pay around $3000. Plus it's super easy to get the money. Just take before and after pics and email them in (ok, maybe a couple other steps, but it's really not too hard).

I've heard that KoLA isn't considered a universally acceptable hashgacha...

PSA: Until about 2-3 month ago, KoLA was a nearly universally accepted hashgacha. However in the past couple months it was recently brought to my attention that (besides for Coffee Bean) KoLA should not be relied upon. I'm still not sure exactly what changed, but I did hear some of the things that have gone on and despite my loving Bodhi, I would not recommend eating there or at any other KoLA-supervised establishment (with the exception of the Coffee Bean chain) anymore. I won't post more details than that here, but you can PM me.

Which "W"? In Westwood? Or Hollywood? Westeood has more space and bedrooms and larger upgraded. Hollywood is smaller but more hip.

I haven't stayed anywhere else but for what specific reasons would you consider a different hotel more child-friendly?
Unless you mean the hotel is more enjoyable if you come without kids, I would say that's the case in every hotel

I stayed in the SLS 2x in the past year with my kids and had a very good experience both times.
They went out of their way to help out whenever possible.
Only negative is that the shower/bath is not child-friendly at all.

Geographically the best hotels near shuls are the Residence Inn Beverly Hills and the Beverly Hills Marriott (formerly Crowne Plaza). Both of which are not in Beverly Hills for the record.

Yes, the bathrooms are laid out very adult-like.

In the several stays there, our points and upgrade only covered enlarged rooms with possible "garden access", however they did not have additional bedroom suites available. The St. Regis and the "W" Westwood have an additional bedroom with points, so that would be a presence when traveling with children.

I am going with just my wife so we are looking for something a little more quiet and relaxing while still being somewhat close to the city. I see Terranea Resorts but it is an hour away from Pico and that is a little further then what I am looking for, as our main activities are Santa Monica and Malibu one day and then window shopping (grove, rodeo...) and eating around pico the next.

Preferable a points hotel, but if need be i will sell points to afford whatever it is.

P.S I have nothing planned for the third day and would love nice quaint spot to go relax somewhere near the city...

Having an extremely difficult time deciding which hotel to stay at in LA this summer. I am going with just my wife so we are looking for something a little more quiet and relaxing while still being somewhat close to the city. I see Terranea Resorts but it is an hour away from Pico and that is a little further then what I am looking for, as our main activities are Santa Monica and Malibu one day and then window shopping (grove, rodeo...) and eating around pico the next.

Preferable a points hotel, but if need be i will sell points to afford whatever it is.

AFAIK the most economical points-wise is the Four Points LA Westside in Culver City if youre not there Shabbos and don't mind being a ~20 min drive from the Jewish area. 7k SPG/ night. Decent place.

There are also 2 7k SPG options by LAX but Culver City is a much nicer area.

Although I think all 3 hotels I mentioned are now 10k/night.

Thanks! However, I should have specified that taking my wife to a Four-Points would not be condusive to our Shalom Bayis. I am looking for a more upscale option...
