Pico has the most options and is 15-20 min without traffic. The Shul on the Beach is physically closer, and I believe they have a daily minyan.

Shul on the beach didn't used to have a daily minyan.  Verify first.  Westwood kehilla does,  but I believe pico is your best bet

I assume traffic on a weekday around 7am will make the trip more like 30-40 minutes instead of 15-20 ?

It's clean, but the Hotel Bel Aire is way nicer.

Does it make sense to split a week between Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach and Andaz West Hollywood? (only have UR/Hyatt points atm)

I'm choosing LA instead of MIA (Kosher restaurants)I am totally not familiar with LA and am just starting to go Through the thread. my logic is that I"ll have the beach and Hollywood....

is there anyplace I should be looking instead of Huntington beach?

Im actually probably going to do the same I think its a good idea. I will be throwing in 2 days in disney as well staying at hyatt regency orange county. Im hoping to try out the new waldorf in beverly hills instead of some andaz days but right now there is no points (base points) availability for that

NO restaurants near HB. but it's beautiful and on the ocean. No restaurants or daily minyanim near any beaches for that matter. Traffic is real and alive. But yoo have the beach and hollywood. And awesome weather if you come any week but this week. Just be realistic about distance and travel time.

thats why I would bring pom meals or la gondola meals. I definitely wouldn't shlep back and forth

I'm landing in LAX but driving to SD the next day.  I was thinking of using marriott certificate (1-5) at a property along the way going south so I thought there might be some nice options along  or close to the ocean but still within 20 Mon driving distance to a minyan

the marriotts tend to be clustered near LA and near SD. There are a few very nice locations in Manhattan Beach near the water, but they are category 6.

look in the Oceanside area. Several good options for you. 20 min to a minyan will be tough regardless, those tend to be clustered too

there is no daily minyan anywhere on the coast  or near the coast between Hunighton beach and Oceanside?

I have searched starwood, IHG and marriott and I am giving up using free night certificate not realistic for hotels by the ocean.  willing to pay with points/cash

I am trying to find a hotel somewhere between LA and SD with spectacular ocean views and cliffs etc... somewhat near a minyan(willing to drive up to 25 min)  Any suggestions, recommendations?? willing to spend up to $300
