   [th]Area - Address [/th]
   [th]Supervision[/th]
Tierra Sur At Herzog Winery in Oxnard 5/5 stars-The menu here is constantly changing but is always amazing.  The flavors you will try here are unlike any you will get at another kosher restaurant in the world.
Oxnard -

La Gondola4.5/5 stars
-Avocado eggrolls to die for (I had it and I didn't like it
I can't eat Avocado when it's warm, I'm sure others can't too-Sillypainter).  Great Bread with garlic margarine on the house(agree-Sillypainter) Great Gondola Burger special for lunch with excellent pasta or a soup.  And the Chai Steak with Carmelized Steak Sauce and arguably the best kosher ribs out there.   I'm getting hungry thinking about this place!
Pico

Meatos - https://meatos.us/

http://charcoalgrillbar.com/

Shiloh's4/5 stars
-Great baby back ribs and peppercorn steak.  They serve steaks with a number of dipping sauces which is pretty cool.  Also had some delicious key lime pie.
I did have a bad experience here with really bad food though...and service can be poor here as well.
Beverly Hills Thai4/5 stars-It can get very crowded so it's best to make a reservation in advance.
Jeff's 3.5/5 stars-Homemade onion rings, homemade sausages, Steak Sandwich, Western burger, lots of good and greasy stuff here.
PKD (Pico Kosher Deli)3.5/5 stars
-Excellent Deli-style food along with equally good homemade onion rings. No Reservations, but rarely more than a few minute wait. closes at 9 PM.
Pat's3/5 stars
-Either you love this upscale steakhouse or you hate it.  I used to hate it until my brother became good friends with the bartender.  Now when I go back with him we're treated to a feast for a king! Don't miss the bread pudding dessert!
Shanghai2.5/5 stars
-LA hasn't had very good Chinese since Sholom Cuisine closed.  This place is decent though.
Harissa4/5 stars-Home of the LA-famous pretzle challah! They offer Middle Eastern/Mediterranean/North African cuisine.  They have lots of seating and long hours.

Milk/Parve:

1. Fish Grill
4.5/5 stars
-The best fish you'll ever have, period.  I'm not such a fish person, but their Grilled Salmon on Angel Hair Pasta with a huge order of well-seasoned fries...YUM! Get the grilled salmon sandwich.

2. Milky Way Reopened, brand new place worth a visit
4/5 stars
-Steven Spielberg's adorable mom will come shmooze with you and show you his movie posters in the back.  Cheeze blintzes and lemon tart are awesome. Chimichangas, potato latkes, and more all at prices that haven't been raised in decades.

3. Pizza Nosh (Agoura Hills)
4/5 stars
-Excellent pizza and Eggplant Parmesean, worth a stop if you're in the area.

4. Pizza Mayven
4/5 stars
-Good plain pizza and excellent fries, and that's about it.

5. Nagila Pizza
3/5 stars
-Good but pricey stuffed crust pizza, and that's about it. There are some big fans of their Naco's out there as well.

6. Trattoria Natalie
4.5/5 stars
-A trattoria is translated from Italian as a tavern, and that's what this restaurant feels like.  They have a cool on-table feature: its a paging device with three bottons.  One botton calls for water, the other for the bill, the last for a waiter.  The food is very good and prices not too expensive.

7. Meshuga for Sushi/Meshuga for Sushi 2
4/5
-With 3 locations (one in La Brea, one in Pico, and one in the valley), they offer great sushi at reasonable prices.  They have some space to eat in the restaurant.  They have long hours and a decent lunch menu.

IF you eat non-CY:
-Sweet Rose Creamery, on Beverly is Kosher and considered some of the best ice cream in LA by foodies http://www.sweetrosecreamery.com/, usually have 4 or 5 non dairy flavors
-Toppings Frozen Yogurt 349 S Robertson Blvd, good frozen yogurt, usually have a non dairy flavor or two

If you eat CY:
-Milky's at 1429 S Robertson Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90035 recently became kosher and is cholov yisrael.

Breakfast/Bakery:
1. Cafe Elite
4.5/5 stars
-Amazing cake/crumb donuts along with your usual breakfast food.

2. Schwartz Bakery/Circa NY
4/5 stars
-A great but expensive bakery.  The crumb cheese danish is a personal favorite, as is their wonderful Caramel cake and "kit kat" chocolate rice crispy bars.
They also now serve breakfast in their Pico and Fairfax location.  I had the combo Pancake+Waffle+Franch Toast meal with fruit salad that was very good.
On friday's only they sell raspberry cheese pockets - they always sell out of them early.

3. La Brea Bagel
3/5 stars
-Very good bagels with all kinds of toppings and other breakfast food.

4. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf - 7235 Beverly Blvd
4/5 stars
-The only coffee bean in LA that has Cholov Yisroel upon request and offers 3 Pas Yisroel bakery items from Delice; Chocolate Almond croissant, Custard twist, and chocolate croissant - also upon request.

SHABBOS TAKE OUT OPTIONS

1. Ralph's - both the Pico and La Brea locations have a kosher section with takeout

(have not seen any SPG in-rooms jacuzzi suites in LA area - perhaps other chains?)
Years ago I had a jacuzzi on my balcony at the Westin LAX.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

So i'm not sure where the steps are...

1) The stairwell to get upstairs is in the back of the Tres restaurant.
2) The stairwell to get down ends up outside by the parking garage/valet.
3) And i know there is at least one more set but they don't use it for some reason.

In general the setup of these stairs is not meant for them to be used other than for emergencies, however they know about Shabbos and would allow them to be used if you ask.....

Both

I may be wrong, but most options I saw dodnt seem too good the W in Westwood for 12k points didn't seem good, from the reviews its an older hotel ...Unless using free suite night awards, Andaz or Century Plaza didn't seem a better option than paying 50% rack for the SLS. 50% off rack you could get a Studio Suite for $299, or Balcony Suite for $354. (There are a few more options in between)
I stayed at W Westwood and was very happy with it.
Also a happening hotel.

+1
Yes, same.
A happening place  - great outdoor bar areas.
Indoor bar/restaurant very classy, too.
The 3 room suite was free with plat status, otherwise the 12k points is in the higher end
due to location being a bit too far..
The "W" Hollywood seemed closer, however they were sometimes 12K and sometimes 16K,
plus $39 nightly valet.

From Pico around 6:00pm, from La Brea around 6:15pm. You will be driving in rush hour traffic if you take the I-405 North and the US-101 North (West).

On Sunday I'd say leave around 6:30, 6:45pm.

Others may feel differently.

It's just over 50 miles away, about 1 hour without traffic. Plan on adding 30-60 minutes for traffic. If I were you I'd drive out to Camarillo/Oxnard earlier in the day to avoid the traffic. Leaving from LA to get to Tierra Sur for a 7:30p reservation on a weeknight can be a disaster. Check out the map in the wiki for things to do in that area.

Was it a named suite? I had the balcony suite on the top floor but no jacuzzi.
I remember when a coke was a nickel, and you could buy VRs in OD.

There's a large outlet mall in Camarillo. You can find typical beach stuff (kayak, bike, boat rentals) in Oxnard or the surrounding area.

I stayed by residence inn the rooms are all mini suites with kitchen and large fridge  and table and chairs. the main entrance is not auto door so easy to enter. I personally left my room open whenever I left but there were many ppl there asking the desk for key assistance over shabbos and they immediately went up to open rooms dor them. I called the manager (keenan) before to request a low floor and to ask about hot plate rentals in the area and he told me they have some in stock, and he reserved one for me. It was a standard jewish hotplate which worked out amazing. Shabbos day they let us eat outside by the hotel patio. All in all I was very happy its not five star accommodations but its a solid 3.5 and I would recommend it to anyone

A Basic overview of my trip:

Flight:
Delta (glitch) - Nice experience - They allowed me to switch seats and gave me an extra seat for baby  (unpaid for), so was able to take a carseat and strap it in, made flying a breeze.

Hotels:
Hyatt LAX - For Thursday night - decent enough for our late night arrival - nice staff, wi-fi & breakfast was free (plenty of food for the OUD eater)
W Westwood - Rest of stay - including Shabbos - as SPG Gold was Upgraded to a pretty nice suite on the 12th floor, they have beautiful outdoor pool/backyard...

Parked down the block at a lot for $17 for friday/shabbos & plenty of street parking the rest.

Friday - Complimentary breakfast in the Hyatt, The W Westwood was very accommodating and allowed us to do early check-in, then went to PKD  and got awesome takeout for Shabbos, glattmart for the rest of shabbos stuff, Marina Del Ray Beach - found street parking, but wasn't overly impressed... back  at the W - taped the door (tongue) down, and taped the light sensor on the fridge for shabbos... The hotel was accommodating and offered "Shabbos Guy" services - Wake-up knock on the door, Room door opening & An Elevator Man (I kindly refused, besides the elevator for the baby on the way back up)... No auto door problems...

Shabbos - Davening: There is a Chabad about 7 min walk (call before to make sure there is a minyan) and Westwood Kehilla shul about 22 min walk from the W Westwood (+12 flights of steps to/from room). PKD takeout was amazing! Brought some food from home.
In the afternoon we hung-out in the beautiful backyard and down the block at a small Botanical Gardens - which was pretty & pleasant. (I was told by someone I rely on, that I can use the Eruv. Ask your LOR for yourself)

Motzei Shabbos  - Walked to a small local theater.

Sunday - Went to the Getty Center - Breath taking! Then The Grove - Nice! (if using Flashpark, make sure you have $5 loaded on your card or else parking isn't free) Then Pat's for Dinner - A bit pricey but well worth it! Everything was amazing!

Monday - Sun-bathing at the hotel, check-out, CVS around the corner (Needed to use the formula G'mach) bought over 20 Vanilla Reloads (reaching my spending threshhold on 3 different cards), Lunch at Milky Way - I was very happy, wife wasn't. Then went to Hollywood Wax Museum, Guiness Museum, Ripleys (package tickets) wasn't overly impressed with any! Each one took 30-45 min, was a waste of time and money. (I believe there is a different Wax museum but don't know much about it.) Then went driving/sight seeing through "The Canyons" and "Rodeo Drive" - Absolutely stunning! Picked up a great dinner from Jeff's and rolled along to the Airport for a delayed flight back to the snowy covered NY... :'(
