But on a serious note, I just don't get how America puts up with this; Judges are treated as Godly messengers transmitting an uninterpreted, unbiased, word of God.

No they are treated as if they are the laws messengers interpreting the word of the constitution and legal law, which they must be for the system to be effective

The only court I was actually in was a Brooklyn Small Claims Court. The judge treated the crowd of over 200 as if they were in her high school.

Well, it comes back to what we were saying before. To use deadly force, you need to reasonably believe (so objective and subjective) that you are in imminent threat of death or grievous bodily injury, and that deadly force is necessary to stop it.

Someone on top hitting you would not necessarily satisfy that, but depending on the circumstances, it could.
