Anybody live there?  Lived there?  Visited?

Looking for an affordable alternative to the NY metro area :)

(No Dan, Cleveland is not an option!  My wife won't go 50 feet north of where we live now... West and South are the only options)

It's not really a Jewish place, but I did visit it several times.

ETA: You must be talking about the Litvishe community there. Totally slipped my mind.

I find it to be a nice, slow paced, quiet community

Are you familiar with any other suburbs of Philly?  I'm looking for a community that has sizable properties (just to make it easy let's say 0.75 acres and up) without the NY price tag.  So far I've checked out websites for Bensalem, Wynnewood, and Elkins Park.

Have visited - what specifically do you want to know? Heads up on RE taxes - diff. neighborhoods converge and IIRC they have very different RE taxes one block to the next...

Where do the kids go to school?  Is the community mostly more modern, or more yeshivish?  How close is the nearest sofer, seforim store, kosher butcher, supermarket, etc.

Community - I don't really know but I what I do know is there is somewhat of a mix of BT and some bnei torah - honestly not sure about that one...its a relatively small frum kehilla

Bakery in the neighborhood and some other food establishments..

IIRC About 15 min drive -
but google map it to confirm - to Philly's large frum community - and they have everything there on top of what's listed above...
