For those that don't know how certificates work.

Seven night and five night certificates

1. Marriott certificates can be used for any reservation that can be booked with points. To search for reward availability simply go to marriott.com and check the box to search "using points".

Marriott hotels are divided into categories. (Cheapest being category one) below is a list of all the category 1-4 hotels  http://www.marriott.com/hotel-search/Category1.hotels.Category2.Category3.Category4.Category5/

2. A 5/7 night certificates must be used for 5/7 consecutive nights. The reservation cannot be split up.

3. In order to hold the room you need a credit card. Your card will be kept for incidentals and you won't be charged for the room.

4. Certificates can be gifted BUT the room needs to be booked under the account holders name and you will be added a secondary guest.

5. Gold or plat benefits depend heavily on the hotel. At check in you may or may not get an upgrade.

Do 7 night certs have to be consecutive nights? Can they be 2 nights for 3 rooms?

Consecutive

Are taxes included when using certificates? Also, they are for a standard room?

It's worthless to go back and forth over this. I never mentioned a "set" selling price for the certs, I said a "standard". Just because there is someone willing to pay $750 for a cert because they think they are getting a great value saving $100, doesn't mean that's what the monetary value of the cert really is.

Regardless, I would venture to say that price gouging on the forum is generally frowned upon. Feel free to disagree.
"Price gouging is a pejorative term referring to when a seller spikes theprices of goods, services or commodities to a level much higher than is considered reasonable or fair, and is considered exploitative, potentially to an unethical extent."

The certificates sell for $400 in other places so there did still room to go up

I've gotten as much as $550 for a certificate when I booked the rooms directly.

I believe you are also reselling the certificates and just crying over your own profit.
If you were the end user you would see the value like everyone else.
