For those that don't know how certificates work.

Seven night and five night certificates

1. Marriott certificates can be used for any reservation that can be booked with points. To search for reward availability simply go to marriott.com and check the box to search "using points".

Marriott hotels are divided into categories. (Cheapest being category one) below is a list of all the category 1-4 hotels  http://www.marriott.com/hotel-search/Category1.hotels.Category2.Category3.Category4.Category5/

2. A 5/7 night certificates must be used for 5/7 consecutive nights. The reservation cannot be split up.

3. In order to hold the room you need a credit card. Your card will be kept for incidentals and you won't be charged for the room.

4. Certificates can be gifted BUT the room needs to be booked under the account holders name and you will be added a secondary guest.

5. Gold or plat benefits depend heavily on the hotel. At check in you may or may not get an upgrade.

You post a price and agree with your buyer on terms typically paid via PayPal or Venmo. Then seller calls up Marriott and typically books the reservation in the name of the buyer directly (worst case the buyer is listed a second guest which gives them the ability to check into the room). Best advice is to get recommendations on the buyer (and seller) as each has something to lose if not trust worthy.
Thanks a lot! and sorry for the late reply.

@michael2500 I'm confused. If I do this, will I get platinum benefits on my stay? and in turn you get the nights credited to your account? Is that why you're willing to pay?

All,
Should be able to book most if not all SPG properties with certs.

Advance booking working as well.

Not sure if you can do advance booking and apply a cert later on, if any one has DP please update

Some hotels are adding destinations fees... including St Regis Maldives.

Like the other two have stated, that is correct.

Selling 1 free night up to 25K points for $120. PM me.
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

Is there any difference between the Amex SPG  & Marriot card free nights?
