it is dead in my area. went to my local store where the guy is super cool and he showed me the pos it would not let him accept anything other than CASH. I stress cash NOT debit! who walks around with cash to buy a card. RIP. one final note this will now apply to not just variable or reloadable but even fixed priced vgc. RIP OD

I think that policy will backfire because not many people are going to buy these things with cash.  You already have cash, it makes little sense to convert it, unless you plan on giving it as a gift and in that case, just give cash.

This it the USA, we operate on credit cards, period.

As someone on this thread on flyertalk said - or it will be used to REALLY launder money with ill gotten cash! That is not what I want or need, so until the revoke this stupid idea - it is dead for us all :(
