Looks like their savings account is at 1.1%.
I'll stick with earning 1 tax-free AA mile over a taxable 1.1%
Where do you earn AA on a savings or checking a/c? Is that an annual earning?

BankDirect checking or savings.
Every month you get 100 miles per $1,000 in the checking account plus something like .1% interest.
If I refer you we can both get an extra 1,000 miles over the standard 1,000 mile signup bonus...PM me if you want a referral.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

It looks like the miles are only for the checking. I keep most of my balance in savings so I don't think it's worth the hassle for me to switch from a bricks & mortar bank. Thanks though.

What's the practical difference if you keep your money in checking or savings?
If a mile is better than 0.8% post-tax interest in a savings account I'm not sure I see the difference of the name of the account?

Good point. I'm looking into it, but have a couple of questions that I'm not finding on the site. Are they FDIC Insured? How do you make deposits, do you have to mail them in?

ING is as legit as they come. You can transfer money in and out via a regular bank account, i.e. Chase, BOA etc., or withdraw with their free debit card. the customer service is excellent and the website, while a little "old fashioned" is very easy to use. FDIC insured and all, up to $250,000 of course. I got $121 in a promotion last year.
