1. Adds inordinate amount of time required before flight departure time.
2. Can't bring any food onto flight.
3. Requires secure section of terminal, typically without lounges or sufficient facilities.
4. Issues with immigration means you miss your flight.
And more...

5. For BRU it might be a precursor to narrow body flights into airports with no immigration facilities.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Which US airport without immigration could possibly support a flight to BRU?!?

But I don't see how that's a negative. I'd gladly fly CLE-EU on a narrowbody, as long as it has lie-flat J. But CLE has immigration.

LGA?

IDK. I'm no AVGEEK like you or some others here. (and I actually like LGA - but for the long taxi times).

Thanks. So why would international airports want to add that?

Despite all these I would rather have pre-clearance.

1. and 4. are time issues, and I would much rather waste time before the flight and after. Especially when I travel with the kids, after 12-13h flights I'd much rather go straight to luggage pick up than wait for up to an hour at immigration.

2. Not relevant to me

3. Regarding the lounges perhaps they can have them before pre-clearance, and then an hour before boarding they call ppl from the lounge.

If I had US citizenship and global entry obviously I wouldn't want that

1. US pressure.
2. Most people don't realize the cons.

Never realized. Always appeared airports were eager for it

TBH, I haven't looked into flying to the left coast in many years. I think the last time I flew west from NY we met at a not very happy occasion.

In his speech post signing agreement with Sudan, Bibi pointed that "the skies of Sudan are now open, which will decrease flight times to Latin America".

He's got a point, for when flights to latam restart.

I believe the below is roughly accurate (in a very amateurish way needless to say) except for the western part of Africa / Cameroon
