Expect Ichilov to run out of appointments pretty fast.

I booked today for Sunday and there were only 2 slots left. Especially since you don't need to prepay, as opposed to check2fly

I can see this filling up faster than anyone can say "hello". It won't be a long-term viable option. OTOH, as the demand for paid tests increases, more providers will enter the market, and competition is likely to drive prices down.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

The Kuppot will likely offer the test for nominal fees

What would be great. Wondering why they are not more proactive.

Clalit just updated their app to reflect the fact that tests can't be used for traveling

I think that is extremely likely, though I am not sure if there is anything in Israeli laws and regulations that might prohibit them from doing it. I will not be surprised if getting a test done at a drugstore becomes an option.

Direct flights to Marrakesh. Not cheap  :-[

https://twitter.com/gotomichal/status/1399660847702622211?s=19

Direct flights to London with mainline airlines is around 400-450$ this has no competition yet and its a longer flight.

Starting tomorrow one can't use Kupot Holim's negative PCR in order to fly. (Unless the Kupot start charging for the option, which I don't see at Clalit).

If the requirement isn't an Israeli one, ie. Green Pass holder, then shouldn't the validity be defined by the country of entry?

This directive is 100%+ political and has to do with "inequality". It's not fair (a huge issue in Israeli culture) that taxpayer money is funding travel (which is viewed as an optional luxury). It's all about stopping the "abuse" of the Israeli Healthcare system for "luxury" purposes.

It is. The Kupot are still not supposed to preform the test, but if you get them to do one, it is valid.

Competition will bring prices down and increase availability until equilibrium is found.

Competition will bring prices down and increase availability until equilibrium is found, in a regular country. In Israel in the case this does happen it can take unusually long.

I totally agree.
The fact that places like Ichilov think they can get away with charging 297 nis (and 445nis for non-resident) is outrageous when you know that places like check2fly managed to turn a profit with 45nis tests

As far as I recall when they won the with that low bid everyone was shocked as it was about 50% lower than the next bidder.

Just a heads up, I updated my רמזור app and they removed my tav yarok, and the ability to request one, since it's officially discontinued. For those who used the tav yarok to get into the airport, think of downloading / printing the tehudat hissun
