Not worth it 99% of the time.
The mileage cost vs the revenue cost makes revenue tickets a lot cheaper and when the revenue prices are extraordinarily high, you won't often find mileage options.

It used to be possible to fly first class on Cathay Pacific from North America to TLV via Hong Kong using 70K Alaska miles. In early 2020, Alaska announced they would be joining OneWorld. It seems like the only direct flights to Malta is Ryan air once a week on Shabbat in both directions.
Anyone know of other options or heard air Malta might start their flights again anytime soon?
