Malta air is the airline connected to Ryan air.
Air Malta is a separate airline that until covid flew several times a week between tlv and Malta.

Very interesting.
"Air Malta and Malta Air will run parallel to each other, avoiding any clashes in routes and destinations as Malta Air aims to take-over Ryanair's Maltese operations."

So it seems like it wasn’t a security issue after all…

For what it's worth, I still don't trust the Turkish government to protect Israelis..

I still don't see how LY can compete with TK and all the low cost Turkish ones

Israeli press imply that KSA overfly is essentially a deal that will be announced on Friday

I'd be very disappointed if it's not happening  ::)

Beyond all the benefits for LY (shorter / cheaper routes, new routes etc) we could finally see SQ launch service, no?  :) (unless there are other factors I didn't take into account)

Looking forward.
I guess my follow up question would be: anything preventing LY to launch a route to SIN?

SQ flights to TLV will not happen without normalization with Malaysia. Whether LY can fly into SIN is another question (is it possible without entering Malaysian airspace?)
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

I'm not expert but I thought they settled their disputes back in 2019?

Is it possible without entering Malaysian airspace?
I would think through the Gulf of Thailand, then South, wouldnt be too much of a detour
