Wow. Just saw this. EWR - RZE is already for sale. RZE - TLV not yet.
The smart move is that on both routes, they give enough time to travel to Lizhensk and back. Though if only someone can explain to them that if they would make this route connect to TLV with a 4 - 8 hour connection it would be a VERY popular choice among frum jews.
(and nobody try to convince me that flying a wide-body jet to RZE has nothing to do with Lizhensk)

There aren't even any good connections through RZE. That airport is dead besides for 36 hours a year. I can't see this lasting that long unfortunately.... (I wish I'm wrong)

if it has to do with Lizensk, why is the flight from TLV on Sat.?

BTW the RZE airport is active all year with a few daily flights to WAW, & few more destinations in Europe.

First of all, it's Motzei Shabbos. Secondly, they likely got the idea from a Jewish TA, but misunderstood the exact details.. (like starting chof beis Adar. GENIUS!!!)
It also comes at the same time as JFK - BUD (kerestir anyone?) I'm surprised they aren't doing JFK Debrecen instead....

its doable hardly in the first half of the winter, but no way the other 3/4 part of the year.

the first RZE - TLV is perfect for those staying for shabos after the yurtzeit

True.

The JFK - BUD Thursday - Sunday works beautifully for Americans who want to fly to Kerestir for Shabbos, and it's only $702 RT! You can even return from RZE Monday morning for $715 RT!
I think this deserves it's own thread. It has very little to do with Ex-TLV routes

That's the only plane they have that can cross the ocean

First of all, it's Motzei Shabbos. Secondly, they likely got the idea from a Jewish TA, but misunderstood the exact details.. (like starting chof beis Adar. GENIUS!!!)

They know the Jewish market very well - but they never wanted to move the TLV (from WAW) flight to connect to the US flights as they were sold from local and european connections. This year they added another flight that now has a good connection

It also comes at the same time as JFK - BUD (kerestir anyone?) I'm surprised they aren't doing JFK Debrecen instead....

BUD is a very undeserved route, rumor had it that EK was going to do it as a 5th Freedom route. DEB makes zero scene..
They are missing Kerestir this year

That was a joke

Kerestir has lately become a very popular destination all year round. There are a few hundred Yidden there on any given Shabbos during the year.

FYI the airport will be closed on Sunday 8:00-12:00 due to a general strike.  Unless Teva drastically changes their layoff plan in Israel (ain't gonna happen), doubt it will be called off.

BUD is a very undeserved route, rumor had it that EK was going to do it as a 5th Freedom route. DEB makes zero scene..
They are missing Kerestir this year
If Emirates comes in they will kill the market as they did with every city they came in.
They just kill every other airline..
Airlines sending me "We're in this together" emails.

Bruh, where were you when my suitcase weighed it 51.50 pounds?
