Do I recall correctly that UA serves Covenant wines ex-TLV?
For all pax, or just J?
And is the drinking age 18y ex-TLV, or does it go by the carrier's home country (US)? Or is it YMMV depending on the FA?
(Will ask DS to provide DP when he returns, IYH).

My son was denied before when he was 18 or 19. I don't remember the route. He has kind of a baby face. :)

He's 20 and I'm pretty sure he's not shaving more than every few days yet.Growing a beard is some time way down the road.

Well at 18 I've gotten with scruff (only tried when I thought I can pass as 21+). So the time for a beard is 18-20, at 21+ it's pointless ;)

Nice new route! TAP often has very good economy and business class fares, which can work one way too. They also offer a free stopover in Lisbon option.

Lisbon – Tel Aviv eff 31MAR19 1 daily A321 (Previously served from October 1993 to April 1997)
TP1603 LIS1420 – 2130TLV 321 D
TP1604 TLV0505 – 0900LIS 321 D

Nice. Clearly timed for inbound connecting pax and wasting a lot of time on the ground in TLV for that

TAP J class  JFK-TLV $1465, TLV-JFK $1315. Good option, but a pretty poor product considering the long LIS-TLV flight

Refundable with a $150 charge is great.

Any cheap mileage options tlv to Europe? Anything distance based that's a good deal - like 10k miles rt.
I'm looking at the less used programs like Etihad or Emirates who have partnerships with random European airlines, but so far no luck.

Which partners?
Not necessarily partners. Their own metal. They both often have decent mileage deals to Europe

To fly ba I would have to go cross Europe. How would that be a good deal on a distance based chart?
I was under under the impression ElAl is always a rip off, so didn't bother checking. Do any ElAl partners have good rates on ElAl metal?
