Yeah I'm aware. Do we know if they plan to fly over countries that don't give flyover rights to LY?
Looks like they have the same flyover restrictions as LY when it comes to African countries. Otherwise wouldn't they fly straight?

Was never a scheduled route. Though in vacation season there are usually a few charter flights a day.

Was thinking of posting this in Turkish Airlines thread, but since this is relevant to Ex-TLV, I figured this thread is more relevant.

Calcalist is reporting that Isracard is signing a deal with Turkish Airlines for a loyalty card:

It’s about time. The only airlines that have an Israeli branded CC are El Al and Lufthansa.

Turkish is the largest airline in TLV after LY.

Elal is making a fortune with the Fly Card, it is a no brainer for other card issuers to compete with them.

Israeli & EU cc will never earn as much as USA cards, since the interchange in Israel is ~%0.70 compared with %2+ in the US

Maybe because after ELAL it has the most scheduled flights and capacity out of TLV (other than possibly LCC).

Very exciting.

I wouldn't get over excited, as Israeli news outlets were the originators of fake news before it was cool to publish fake news (or something along those lines to paraphrase @Dan). That being said, with the fact that they are getting an Israeli as a CEO maybe it's just something that he might bring to the front burner for consideration.

Indeed. Though, I don't really see the logic as the TLV - LON market is already flooded with capacity and they have a partnership with LY for flights to the US.
Btw, once on the topic, I noticed that VS has published fares from TLV to the US via MAN with the new flight from El Al on the route.

I would think that EX-LON is profitable. It would also provide a connection for EX-US flights if timed right.
