I beg to differ. Until now all flights TLV-ATH were at least- $120-150 RT. If Ryanair starts offering this route for 20-50 Euro RT, it will make a huge difference.

BA closing it's TLV reservation center, Israeli number will reach UK reservation center. Also mentions that DL and TK are the last foreign carriers to operate a reservation center in Israel. (IME TK's TLV office is very competent, but only operates during regular Israeli business hours).

Also mentions that TK is one of the only carriers that pays commissions to Travel Agents.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Fake news as usual. Pretty sure UA still has an Israeli call center. So do others.

UA moved their call center to Argentina about a year ago but they have Hebrew speaking agents there, however AC still has one here

Don't ET have? Doubt they'd find Hebrew speakers in ADD. Also 4D most definitely do. It's not like they're routing calls to Cairo.

Swiss and Lufthansa both offer Israeli hotlines at Israeli business hours, but are routed to a Hebrew speaking team in their main (Berlin?) call center.

Seems to be a one-off, possibly a bit more, but definitely not regular service.

Read comment #18 which is spot on.

It's a good comment :)
You're right, it's a one-off.. but in many interviews the local ambassador said this is the first step towards ongoing flights

I don't think good is the right adjective. Rather it is a correct portrayal of the situation. And @Emkay might appreciate comment #27 and understand that no-one is seeking to hate anything Israeli or Israeli culture. There are some cultural issues that, if properly addressed, would make even some of the biggest opponents of Zionism appreciate being served by Israelis.

Not really. LY premium service was phenomenal and definitely felt genuine in my experiences. Yes yes, I know, Elal is horrible and you wouldn't fly them for anything.

My personal experience is from 19 years ago, but the headlines about their handling of situations is very recent and not my personal experience. I know that they do treat travel agents better than most airlines do, and they are also rumored to treat their top tier frequent flyers well. FTR, I didn't write any of the comments on Calcalist. Presumably, those were Israelis that wrote those.
