Sundor's new routes to Paphos, Cluj and Verona

https://en.globes.co.il/en/article-el-als-sun-dor-launches-new-european-routes-1001317437

They don't mention the days of the week. Unfortunately they do fly on Shabbos under Sun D'Or flight numbers.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Interesting development with the new Sudan relations.....We are soon organizing direct flights over Sudan, and it may be possible to shorten flights to Latin America by 3-4 hours. LATAM will be thrilled! I wonder if this will help Elal make some kind of flight

If flying out of tlv is there a place in Jerusalem that sells the prepackaged meals that people always talk  about when flying from the u.s.  Can they be brought into cyprus, malta or Mauritius?

It's not everyday that I quote Iran Daily

Sudan has agreed to allow flights heading to Israel to cross its airspace, a military spokesman said on Wednesday, two days after Sudan’s military head of state held a surprise meeting with Israel’s prime minister.

How do you get to this figure?

Ive made a simplistic map below of how flights might look like versus what the current route. Doesnt seem drastically different, am I missing something?

Looking at flight aware the direct route is 6597 miles and the actual flights are 7563.  Also based on tail winds they seem stronger over Africa typically then the route they take...

maybe this is just my first time noticing it, but does EL AL always add a 6th flight to NYC (LY9 10:30 AM TLV-JFK, 5:30PM JFK-TLV LY10) in Aug?

Yup, I posted it in the Covid thread. Lufthansa, Swiss and Austrian are all cancelled.  Even without an epidemic in Israel, I don’t see how the Israeli economy quickly recovers from all this. At least flights are now resuming before Pesach.  :'(

One-offs direct flight to Lima, Peru.. Sort of  :)

4 flights to Lima today to go pick up Israelis stranded in Peru.

According to the Tourism ministry these flights are sponsored by anonymous donors. עם ישראל חי
