Why is it that United is holding on UA 91/90?
How come they did not stop flying?

Not that it's really possible to know unless someone here has a crystal ball....
But if you want to know which routes weren't very successful pre-Corona... I think SFO for LY would top the list

Will probably launch in the (not so near) future, if the aviation industry picks up again to what it was in 2019.

Will LY be around 6 months from now?

I would assume LY would be around as long as Israel is

There are talks of combining the 3 Israeli passenger airlines into one.

ELAL is on very shaky grounds. If it will emerge on the other side of this crisis, it is likely to be a (somewhat) different entity than it is now.

I’ve read that if you’re not an Israeli citizen or permanent resident with a significant part of your family living in israel, there not letting you in. Which would mean I’m stuck in the US. Anybody have any other info about this?

Unrelated but is this true - the only way to get a body to israel is chartering a private plane?

Wasn’t sure where to post this is there a Covid19 thread on this topic?

I have a relative being flown over today on LY cargo. She passed away in Canada.

Don't think it's Corona related.

Family make a point to mention at the zoom memorial service that it was being done this way, and not via the pricey options.

Incorrect. It is true. I have a relative who was flown last with a private plane and I know other people as well who needed to fly private. UA is the only passenger flights between the US and Israel, and as of now they aren't flying any bodies that passed away from Covid-19.

Hardly. But services are not 100% halted if that's the question.

I'm not sure what I said that was incorrect. He asked if the only way to get a niftar to Israel is via private, and that's incorrect. Only COVID can't go commercial, anyone else can. And United isn't taking any bodies at all at the moment. COVID or not

Yes, but they refuse to take covid, which is why some people had to go private. But any other niftar can go with them
